The Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED) Structural Reforms Commission addressed the topic "women's contribution to Turkey's power" in the third of its workshop series aimed at developing policy proposals. Emine Erdem, TÜRKONFED Vice President and SEDEFED President, reminded that the labor force participation rate for women stands at 35 percent, emphasizing that being unable to practice a profession or access financing is a development issue. TÜRKONFED Vice President and Commission President Atty. Mehmet Gün shared data regarding women's employment and management rates in Turkey. Gün stated that the 15–64 age group female employment rate is 36.8 percent in Turkey compared to 74.1 percent in Germany, noting that the rate of female employers is 12 percent, the proportion of businesses with at least one female partner is 15.8 percent, and the share of female board members in BIST companies is 19.4 percent. Workshop participants put forward various policy proposals such as e-commerce and financial literacy training, female employment criteria in export loans, addressing the shortage of nurseries, adding inclusivity courses to the curriculum, and securing domestic care labor.
