The popular AI assistant Instinct, valued at $2.5 billion, has begun offering dedicated email addresses to allow users to handle operations like account creation and communication autonomously without cluttering their personal inboxes.
Dedicated Email Feature
In an announcement on Tuesday, company founder Noah Shinn stated that the new email addresses allow the AI agent to create and manage its own accounts without filling up users' inboxes.
Automating Tasks
The idea is to enable Instinct to manage email-intensive tasks on its own, such as creating accounts on various services, communicating with businesses, and keeping track of items that require attention.
For instance, the AI can use its own email to contact a restaurant for a special request, inquire about availability, or sign up for a service required to complete a task.
User Experience and Security
This new feature can make Instinct's user experience smoother by eliminating the need for users to step in to log in or provide credentials.
Having partnered with 1Password last week regarding credentials, the startup offers an advantage for customers tired of sharing their email and phone number for simple transactions.
Early Access and Forwarding
While Instinct has reserved some email addresses for its earliest users, other users can claim their own accounts at mail.instinct.com.
When specific information like a product return needs to be completed, users can forward order confirmations to Instinct's email address to have the process tracked by the AI.
Group Communication and Tracking
Instinct's email address can also be added to group chats, allowing the AI to keep track of information exchanged or process long conversation threads.
The bot checks back when it needs user input and otherwise continues to act completely autonomously.
Updates and Partnerships
This feature forms part of a series of recently announced updates aimed at expanding Instinct's capabilities.
The process follows the 1Password partnership enabling logins to existing accounts and a new location sharing feature, as well as the Stripe collaboration announced in August.
