Grant Support for Artificial Intelligence Education

Forsyth Technical Community College is receiving a grant of approximately $1 million from the National Science Foundation to expand its artificial intelligence degree program and build a new laboratory. This funding aims to increase the school's educational capacity.

Robots and Hardware Coming to Campus

Thanks to the grant funding, humanoid robots and robotic arms will be introduced to the campus. Students will program these hardware systems to gain direct experience in large language models and machine learning.

Students' Practical Experiences

Students enrolled in the school's artificial intelligence program note that they are able to immediately integrate topics learned in class, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing, into their daily work.

Statewide Partnerships

Forsyth Tech has spearheaded the creation of 24 new artificial intelligence courses made available for use by other community colleges across North Carolina. Collaborative efforts are also underway with Central Piedmont Community College.
