Georgia Tech is preparing a new Online Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence program to support working professionals in applying AI technologies within their fields. Approved by the university system's board of regents, the program is planned to launch in 2027.
Purpose and Scope of the Program
The new program is designed to help working professionals analyze and apply artificial intelligence within their industries. This interdisciplinary degree combines Georgia Tech's expertise in AI and emerging technologies with practical applications.
Throughout the curriculum, students will examine the responsible use of AI in detail, including ethics, privacy, security, accountability, and governance.

Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Raheem Beyah stated that this degree directly responds to the needs of the industry and working professionals. Beyah emphasized that the program combines deep human expertise with the skills to understand and lead with artificial intelligence.
Educational Approach and Concentrations
The program combines foundational AI knowledge with discipline-specific concentrations. Initially, there will be six different concentrations offering students the opportunity to shape their education according to their areas of interest.
Implementation and Future Plans
Every enrolled student will complete an AI implementation project with a company or organization to ensure they can translate what they have learned into real-world situations. The program will continue to expand as technology and workforce needs evolve.
