Instagram cracks down on AI accounts pretending to be human

Instagram is preparing to take new steps against the increase in accounts that look like real humans but are created by artificial intelligence.

New Tag on Artificial Intelligence Profiles

Instagram is changing its existing tagging system to make it easier to understand AI accounts on the platform.

The company announced that it will change the previously used 'AI creator' phrase to 'AI-generated profile'.

User Feedback Taken Into Account

In the official statement, it was stated that users are disturbed by learning later that profiles they thought were human actually belonged to artificial intelligence.

People communicated to platform administrators that they want to clearly know if a profile contains an AI-produced person.

Access Penalty for Untagged Accounts

With the new regulation, accounts that do not tag their AI profiles themselves will be detected and penalized.

Posts from accounts that do not comply with this rule will not be recommended to people who are not followers in the Explore and Reels areas.

Right of Appeal and Content Creators

Profile owners who are incorrectly tagged or penalized have the right to formally appeal the decision.

While only profile-based regulations are being made, those who produce content using artificial intelligence tools are not required to add tags to every post.
