Instagram Introduces New Rules for Artificial Intelligence Profiles
The platform is changing the label name for AI-content accounts while restricting access for profiles that fail to disclose.
Instagram has announced new limitations and regulations for artificial intelligence profiles, changing the "AI creator" label to "AI-generated profile".
New Label Regulation
Instagram announced that it has updated the existing AI content label to make it clearer. With the change, the label will now be called "AI-generated profile" and will indicate that the person in the profile is artificially generated.
Restrictions and Exemptions
According to the new policy, content creators who do not properly label their AI profiles will have their reach reduced. On the other hand, individuals using creative tools such as standard photo editing, text enhancement, and graphic generation are not required to use this label.
User Reactions and the Impact of Artificial Intelligence
One of the main reasons for this change was complaints arising from users realizing later that profiles they thought were real were actually entirely AI products. The rise of AI influencers on social media had also increased dissatisfaction on this issue.
