Independent security researchers from Hacktron AI, participating in OpenAI's bug bounty program, accessed an OpenAI employee's ChatGPT account using Anthropic Claude. Realizing they could reach the GitHub service, the researchers stopped to avoid accessing sensitive data and reported their findings to OpenAI.

Bug Bounty Reward

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, after the researchers reported the situation, OpenAI paid the team a $6,500 reward as part of the AI startup's bug bounty program.
