According to the PISA 2025 results published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Turkey achieved its highest success in history by increasing both its scores and rankings in all three areas of science, reading skills, and mathematics.
PISA 2025 Results Announced
The results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2025, administered by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development with the participation of 91 countries, were shared with the public simultaneously with the rest of the world.
Application Process and Scope
The final implementation of PISA 2025 was carried out on a computer-based platform across Turkey between April 14 and May 16, 2025, with the participation of 7,702 students in 203 schools across 56 provinces in 12 regions.
Score Increase in All Areas
According to the report released by the General Directorate of Measurement, Assessment and Examination Services, Turkey succeeded in obtaining higher scores in all three main areas in PISA 2025 compared to 2022.
Long-Term Performance Development
While OECD countries' average scores showed a decline in the long term, Turkey's average score continuously increased. Turkey reached 494 points in science, 472 points in reading skills, and 462 points in mathematics.
Position in the International Ranking
In the study where the number of participating countries rose to 91, Turkey climbed to 19th place in science, 18th place in reading skills, and 28th place in mathematics.
Position Among OECD Countries
Turkey ranked 14th in science, 13th in reading skills, and 23rd in mathematics among OECD members. The country became the only OECD member to continuously increase its performance in all three areas over the last 10 years.
