OpenAI is preparing to transform ChatGPT directly into a software discovery and usage hub with autonomous AI assistants called Dots, an expanded plugin architecture, and an enterprise app marketplace introduced at its Dev Day event.

Software Discovery and ChatGPT Integration

Reaching 1.2 billion weekly users, ChatGPT is positioned as a software discovery mechanism by offering app recommendations to users during the chat flow. The expanded plugin architecture allows developers to create interactive panels that users can engage with during conversations.

Sign-In and Enterprise Marketplace

The 'Sign in with ChatGPT' feature introduced by OpenAI enables users to utilize their existing AI entitlements in third-party applications. At launch, more than thirty partner enterprise applications, including names like Adobe, Figma, HubSpot, and Salesforce, took their place in the app marketplace.

Autonomous AI Assistants Dots

Autonomous AI assistants called Dots browse the web and perform tasks on behalf of users thanks to their own cloud infrastructure and browsers. These assistants can connect to more than four application ecosystems to proactively conduct research in the background.

Developer Tools and New Distribution Channel

Developers can now track plugin review processes without starting over, view fixes, and request human review. This structure offers a new distribution channel as an alternative to Apple and Google stores.
