Spotify's AI-Powered Taste Profile Feature Rolled Out in the U.S.
Spotify has released its new AI tool in the U.S. that allows Premium subscribers to inspect and adjust recommendation algorithms using natural language commands.
Spotify, one of the world's leading music streaming platforms, has rolled out its 'Taste Profile' feature for Premium subscribers in the United States, enabling users to directly view platform algorithms regarding their music and audio preferences and edit them using natural language commands.
The Opportunity to Shape the Algorithm
Spotify is initiating a new era that puts the background mechanism determining recommendations on the main feed page under user control. Premium subscribers aged 18 and older in the United States can now transparently see how the platform understands them.
Editing with Natural Language Commands
Thanks to this AI-powered feature, users can make desired changes in the recommendation system by giving text-based commands. Increasing or decreasing specific genres, artists, or general moods can easily be requested through the natural language tool.
Enhanced Experience and Beta Phase
The new feature was first announced in March at the SXSW conference in Austin and tested in a beta phase with listeners in New Zealand. Now, it is entering a wide-scale testing process in the U.S., which is the company's largest traffic and revenue market.
How to Access and Use It
The relevant menu can be accessed by tapping the profile picture through the mobile application, and the system's current understanding of music and podcasts can be inspected. It takes a few hours for the changes made to reflect on the main page.
