TSMC, the world's leading semiconductor manufacturer, increased its revenue in August by 53 percent compared to the previous year, rising to NT$514.8 billion.

August Revenue Increase

Taiwanese semiconductor giant TSMC's August revenue continued the strong growth trend in the markets, reaching a total of NT$514.8 billion, which is approximately USD 16.3 billion.

Artificial Intelligence Chip Demand

The chip maker, the primary choice for technology giants like Nvidia and Apple, is struggling to keep up with the increasing demand for artificial intelligence chips despite rapidly building new facilities.

Factory Investments

TSMC Executive Vice President Cliff Hou emphasized that the company is trying to simultaneously build and equip about 20 factories both domestically and internationally, with the need for production equipment increasing exponentially.

Future Outlook

With the belief that the rapid growth in artificial intelligence chips will continue through 2027 and beyond, company management has revised its year-end sales forecasts and spending plans upward.

Capital Expenditures

Maintaining its strong position in the global chip market, TSMC anticipates that its capital expenditures for 2026 will reach a record level between USD 60 billion and USD 64 billion.

Market Performance

Having experienced a value gain of approximately 60 percent in its shares since the beginning of the year, the chip manufacturer is expected to achieve an average sales increase of 46.8 percent in the current quarter.
