Praising Italian President Sergio Mattarella's call for responsibility in managing new technologies, Cardinal Parolin pointed out that artificial intelligence is a global phenomenon. Stating his concern over the desire of some countries to act alone in this process, Parolin argued that common rules can only be established through international participation.

Speaking about his participation in the United Nations General Assembly and the idea of establishing an international oversight body, Parolin stated that fundamental principles will be put forward at this stage rather than immediate technical solutions. Regarding his own use of artificial intelligence, the Cardinal mentioned the summarization capabilities of computers. Stating that he definitely does not use artificial intelligence in his sermons, Parolin said that artificial intelligence consists entirely of logic and that he tries to bring heart to his sermons.
