212 Photography Istanbul Started with its Ninth Edition
Organized on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the invention of photography, 212 Photography Istanbul meets art lovers with a rich program.
Opening its doors for the ninth time as part of the celebrations for the two-hundredth anniversary of the invention of photography, 212 Photography Istanbul continues with various exhibitions and events until October seventh.
Scope and Dates of the Festival
Realizing its ninth edition, 212 Photography Istanbul started meeting art lovers on September twenty-sixth, and the events will run until October eleventh.
The festival offers a wide program ranging from exhibitions to talks, artist meetups to workshops within the scope of the Turkey Culture Route Festival.
Event Venues
This year's festival program is open to the visits of art lovers at numerous different and historical venues across Istanbul.
The program includes Tophane-i Amire Culture and Art Center, Galata School Foundation Culture Center, 212 Studio, Akaretler No:5, and Eski Posta Han.
Additionally, St. Benoît Church, Yapı Kredi bomontiada, Taksim Sanat, French Cultural Center in Turkey, and Abbasağa Park also host the events.
Featured Exhibitions
Among the prominent exhibitions presented to the appreciation of art lovers within the scope of the festival are selections by world-renowned artists.
Martin Parr's selection 'Short & Sweet / A Retrospective View' and Frank Horvat's exhibition 'Please Don't Smile' draw attention.
BEVFAM's 'Eye Contact', 'Distant Places, Generations, Gazes', and Jill Greenberg's 'Monkey Portraits' exhibitions are also featured in the program.
Season Opening Concert
Within the scope of culture and art events, Süreyya Opera House is also opening its doors to music lovers for the new season.
The opera house opens its new season with Şefika Kutluer's concert titled 'Musical Journey Through the Seasons'.
