Free nationwide periodic health checks being implemented
Participation rates by province are becoming clearer in the free periodic health screenings coordinated by the Ministry of Health.
While efforts continue regarding the implementation of free periodic health checks initiated by the Ministry of Health for all citizens nationwide, current participation rates by province have been shared with the public.
Purpose of Health Screenings
Health checks regularly planned for the public aim to improve individuals' quality of life and detect potential diseases early.
Distribution Reports by Province
Dr. Vuong Anh Duong, Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management under the Ministry of Health, reported that official reports have been received from 34 provinces and cities so far.
Provinces with the Highest Rates
In evaluations conducted as of August 17, Quang Ninh ranked first with 89 percent of its population undergoing health checks. This province was followed by Dong Thap with 83 percent, Lai Chau with 82 percent, and Ca Mau and Dien Bien with 80 percent.
Region with the Lowest Rate
According to the initial reported data, An Giang province ranked at the bottom of the list with a participation rate of 19 percent.
Specialist Doctor and Facility Arrangement
The Ministry of Health instructed local governments to organize check-ups by ensuring full rosters of doctors from various specialized fields at authorized health facilities and clinics.
Test List and Data Integration
It was stated that tests will be determined by the physician based on the patient's actual health condition and occupational requirements, and there is no obligation for a fixed test list. To prevent duplicate testing, it was stated that the Social Security database, VNeID, and electronic health records will be utilized.
