The 30th Istanbul Theatre Festival, to be realized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, will bring classical and contemporary works together with theatergoers by focusing on the connection between literature and the performing arts.

Festival Dates and Scope

The 30th Istanbul Theatre Festival, to be organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts with the sponsorship of Koç Holding Energy Group Companies, will take place between October 22 and December 3.

Prepared under the curation of Mehmed Birkiye, this year's festival aims to offer a rich program to audiences by centering on the strong bond between literature and the performing arts.

Highlighted Stage Productions

Within the scope of the festival, And Fire Consumes Us, adapted from Murat Gülsoy's novel, will be presented to theater lovers at the Bakırköy Leyla Gencer Opera and Art Center.

Sinners Behind Bars, adapted from Reşad Ekrem Koçu's serials, will be staged at the historic Phebus Auction House.

Contemporary and Classical Interpretations

The play Anna K., in which Suzie Miller reinterprets Tolstoy's work with today's social media reality, will meet audiences at Alan Kadıköy.

Elizabeth Costello, adapted from J. M. Coetzee's work and drawing attention with its strong cast, will be staged at Paribu Art.

Closing and Side Events

The Portrait of Dorian Gray, reconstructed with a free language from Oscar Wilde's work, will premiere at Zorlu PSM as the closing performance of the festival.

Additionally, Book Club events led by Eylül Görmüş will be held within the scope of Festival Plus, and tickets can be obtained via Passo.
