Inspired by painting shows on television and turning her home into a studio, 81-year-old Şahinde Ermiş has presented her second solo exhibition to art lovers years later.
Living in Zonguldak, 81-year-old mother of four Şahinde Ermiş has opened her second exhibition consisting of oil paintings she began 22 years ago inspired by television programs, at the Zonguldak Fine Arts Gallery.
An Art Journey That Started with a Television Program
Residing in the Alancık village of Zonguldak's central district, 81-year-old Şahinde Ermiş stated that television programs played a significant role in her turning toward the art of painting.
Improving herself by watching the programs of painter Bob Ross that teach fast and easy painting, Ermiş transformed her home into a virtual painting studio over time.
Works Produced Over the Years and First Exhibition
Focusing on oil painting studies with what she learned from Bob Ross's programs, the artist opened her first exhibition about 20 years ago with 44 paintings.
Drawing inspiration from postcards and photographs she took, Ermiş paints nature and landscape pictures, producing a total of about 80 works to date.
Exhibition at the Zonguldak Fine Arts Gallery
The accomplished artist exhibited 23 paintings selected from the works she produced over the years at the Zonguldak Fine Arts Gallery.
Expressing her satisfaction with the exhibition, which attracted great interest from art lovers, Şahinde Ermiş thanked the visitors who did not leave her alone.
