2 people arrested in Bartın for sharing obscene content on social media
Two suspects identified as earning income through obscene images using social media platforms in Bartın have been sent to prison as part of an ongoing investigation.
As a result of an investigation initiated by the Bartın Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, two suspects named Ş.Ç. and K.Ö., who were determined to have generated income through a subscription system by sharing obscene content on Instagram and TikTok, have been arrested and sent to prison.
Initiation of the Investigation
A comprehensive study was launched in Bartın in line with the circular sent to the chief public prosecutor's offices of 81 provinces by Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek within the framework of the 2026-2035 Family and Population Decade Vision.
Operation and Detention Process
The Cyber Crimes Combat Branch teams of the Provincial Security Directorate determined that obscene content was being shared on social media platforms. As a result of technical surveillance, the suspects named Ş.Ç. and K.Ö. were taken into custody.
Legal Proceedings and Measures
The suspects, who were referred to the court on charges of obscenity and laundering assets derived from crime, were arrested. While precautionary measures were placed on the suspects' bank accounts, access bans were imposed on the addresses containing the relevant content.
