Akdeniz University promoted Turkish culture and art in Hungary
At an international event, Turkish culture was introduced to the world through scientific papers, traditional sports, and applied art workshops.
At an international congress hosted by Akdeniz University in the city of Bugac, Hungary, Turkish culture and art were conveyed to a wide audience through scientific papers, applied workshops, and traditional sports demonstrations.
Internationally Participated Congress
At the international event hosted by the Directorate of Akdeniz University Culture, Art, Research and Application Center, 38 academics from approximately 10 universities presented scientific papers on Turkish culture and art.
Academic and Cultural Staff
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Eroğlu chaired the organization, which was supported by the Dean's Office of the Akdeniz University Faculty of Fine Arts. Academics and cultural figures from different countries participated in the congress.
Traditional Arts and Workshops
Traditional Turkish arts such as indigo dyeing, felt making, weaving, marbling, miniature, calligraphy, and painting were introduced through applied workshops and live performances in traditional tents set up in the congress area.
Steppe Atmosphere and Demonstrations
Equestrian combat demonstrations, traditional warrior clothing, archery, and various sports branches were performed in the event area. The organization in Bugac was held with the participation of approximately 200 thousand people.
Historical Traces in Europe
The Akdeniz University team visited important European centers such as Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Esztergom, Szigetvár, and Mohács, examining the traces of Turkish history in these regions on site.
Interinstitutional Contacts
Within the scope of the events, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Eroğlu came together with TIKA President Abdullah Eren and exchanged views on new projects and potential cooperation opportunities for the future.
