Photographer Charles-Joseph de Ligne's Lightscapes exhibition, which blends analog and digital processes, has opened its doors at Vision Art Platform's Akaretler venue. The exhibition brings the artist's visual research on light and perception to Istanbul.

Lightscapes, the visual research on light, color, and perception by French-Belgian artist Charles-Joseph de Ligne, has been presented to art enthusiasts in Istanbul.
The exhibition, which opened on September 19 at the Akaretler venue of Vision Art Platform owned by Nisa Taşyar Savaş, focuses on the artist's experimental photography practice.

Many distinguished names from the business and art worlds attended the special opening reception of the exhibition, curated by Susanne Van Hagen.
Held in collaboration with Vogue Türkiye, the reception featured prominent figures such as Gökçe Şahinoğlu, Hüseyin Özdemir, Rahşan Düren, Sanem Gürün, Burcin Kargin, and Assif Assefi among others.
The Artist's Background
Born in Paris in 1980, Charles-Joseph de Ligne grew up in an environment intertwined with culture, history, and artistic heritage as a member of a distinguished family.
Following his education in Switzerland and England, the artist pursued independent studies and developed his philosophical and spiritual foundation through long periods spent in India, China, and Portugal.
Hybrid and Experimental Techniques
Today, working predominantly in experimental photography, de Ligne adopts a hybrid practice that brings together analog and digital processes.
Using traditional techniques such as silver gelatin, the artist performs erosion, burning, and chemical interventions on negatives to create controlled deformations.
Visitor Information
The physically transformed negatives are then transferred to a digital environment, where images take on a new form through layering and tone adjustments.
Featuring landscape imagery nourished by different geographies, the Lightscapes exhibition can be visited at Vision Art Platform Akaretler until November 7, 2026.
