Ankara is preparing to bring together works by two important painters from Russia's contemporary art world under one roof. Comprising works by German Shamayev from Moscow and Yulia Moreva from St. Petersburg, the exhibition can be visited at the Cumhuriyet Culture Center Art Gallery between September 18 and 30, 2026.

Exhibition Date and Venue Details

The opening of the exhibition, which will bring together the different artistic perspectives of Moscow and St. Petersburg in Ankara, will take place on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 18:00.

Hosted at the Cumhuriyet Culture Center Art Gallery, the exhibition will remain open to all art enthusiasts from September 18 to 30, 2026.

German Shamayev's Original Materials

A member of the International Animal Painters Union and the Eurasian Art Union, German Shamayev uses carpets and animal hides instead of traditional canvas.

Combining the natural texture of leather and wool with detailed craftsmanship, the artist achieves a three-dimensional and extremely realistic appearance in his works.

Yulia Moreva's Portraits and Landscapes

The exhibition's other artist, Yulia Moreva, stands out in the art world with her contemporary approach to portrait and landscape works.

A member of the International Academy of Contemporary Art and the Union of Professional Artists of Russia, Moreva continues her work on canvas.

In the artist's works, human figures, nature, and different aspects of life are handled with a unique pictorial language.
