Culture and Art Week in Istanbul: Contemporary Istanbul and Festivals Begin
Contemporary art fairs, jazz concerts, theater plays, opera, and second-hand book fairs are presented to art lovers across the city.
Istanbul is preparing to host many rich cultural events this week, ranging from contemporary art fairs to concerts, and theater plays to exhibitions.
Contemporary Istanbul Opens Its Doors for the 21st Time
Contemporary Istanbul, one of the most striking events of the week, will be held for the twenty-first time at Tersane Istanbul between September 23 and 27. Galleries and international artists from sixteen countries will take part in the fair.
Artweeks Istanbul and Second-Hand Book Festival
The Collectors edition of Artweeks Istanbul can be visited at Akaretler Row Houses until November 8. Meanwhile, the 15th Beyoğlu Second-Hand Book Festival will continue to welcome book lovers at the Old French Orphanage until September 27.
Jazz and Chamber Music Festivals
The 36th Akbank Jazz Festival will start on September 26 and meet music lovers until October 11. The 6th Istanbul International Chamber Music Festival will also hold its closing concert on September 24.
Theater, Performance, and Music Concerts
While the Istanbul Fringe Festival brings together theater, dance, and performance arts at various points across the city, numerous famous names will give concerts at venues such as Harbiye and KüçükÇiftlik Park.
Opera and Classical Music Events
Atatürk Cultural Center will host concerts by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on September 25 and 26. The Istanbul State Opera and Ballet will perform Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
