After Macklemore was dropped from the lineup, Ed Sheeran's statement that he had no involvement in the decision failed to quell the controversy.

Names such as Finneas, Lukas Graham, and Beoga withdrew from Sheeran's US tour in solidarity with Macklemore.

British musical group Massive Attack announced that they stood in solidarity with artists who risk their careers to support Palestine.

The group shared a harsh message, emphasizing that no artist should turn a blind eye to the censorship of another artist.
