Elazığ Archaeology and Ethnography Museum Opened to Visitors

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy inaugurated the Elazığ Archaeology and Ethnography Museum, which houses approximately 2,000 artifacts, including findings unearthed during the Keban Dam Rescue Excavations.

Museum Opening Ceremony

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy performed the official opening of the Elazığ Archaeology and Ethnography Museum. Governor Numan Hatipoğlu and Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları were also present at the ceremony. Minister Ersoy stated that the museum will carry the thousands of years of civilizational heritage of Elazığ and Anatolia into the future.

Artifacts from the Keban Excavations

The new museum hosts numerous important artifacts uncovered during the Keban Dam Rescue Excavations in the 1970s. Displaying a total of approximately 2,000 artifacts, this center showcases the rich archaeological past of the region.

Restorations in Adıyaman

As part of the opening program, Minister Ersoy inaugurated the structures in Adıyaman that were damaged in the earthquakes and whose restoration processes have been completed. Besni Kurşunlu Mosque, Musalla Mosque, and Abuzer Gaffari Tomb were reopened to visitors with prayers.
