Filmekimi's 2026 cinema program and schedule announced
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, the festival is preparing to meet cinema enthusiasts in four different cities this year.
The 2026 program of Filmekimi, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts with sponsorship from Paribu, has been finalized. This year, the event will meet audiences in Istanbul as well as Ankara, İzmir, and for the first time, Mersin.
Screening Dates and Cities
Filmekimi screenings will take place in Istanbul between October 9–18, in Ankara between October 15–18, and in İzmir and Mersin between October 22–25. Mersin will host cinema enthusiasts for the first time in the event's history.
Movie Theaters
Screenings in Istanbul will be held at Atlas 1948, City's CineWAM Nişantaşı, Kadıköy Cinema, and Paribu Art theaters. Büyülü Fener Kızılay Cinema in Ankara, Paribu Cineverse MaviBahçe in İzmir, and Paribu Cineverse Forum Mersin in Mersin will host the events.
Films Included in the Selection
Featuring productions that stood out at the Cannes, Venice, and Toronto festivals, the selection includes Cristian Mungiu's Fjord, Paweł Pawlikowski's Homeland, Pedro Almodóvar's Bitter Christmas, and Asghar Farhadi's Intersected Lives. Additionally, new productions by James Gray, Na Hong-jin, Werner Herzog, and Martin McDonagh will meet the audience.
Festival-Awarded Local Productions
Films that won awards at the 2026 Istanbul Film Festival—Ziya Demirel's The Most Beautiful Funeral Songs, Pınar Yorgancıoğlu's Those Whistling in the Dark, Evrim Çervatoğlu's Goat501, and Damien Hauser's Princess Mumbi—will be featured in screenings outside Istanbul.
Ticket Sale Conditions
Filmekimi tickets will go on general sale on Friday, October 2, following a pre-sale exclusive to Tulip Card members on Tuesday, September 29. Tickets can be purchased through Passo systems, and students will be able to buy tickets for 50 TL via Eczacıbaşı Youth Ticket.
