Workshop at Rami Library

A flexible cold porcelain workshop was organized at Rami Library as part of the Istanbul Culture Road Festival events. Participants were introduced to the characteristics of the special dough and shaping techniques.

Characteristics and Areas of Use of the Dough

Featuring a recipe developed by artist Fatoş Sarpkaya, the flexible cold porcelain dough dries upon contact with air without the need for baking. This unbreakable and washable dough is preferred for bridal crowns, bridal bouquets, lapel pins, and home decoration.

High Participation and Future Goals

Stating that the demand for the workshop sessions was very high from day one, Sarpkaya expressed plans to expand into international markets following the industrial production of the dough. It was noted that visitors mistook the exhibited artworks for real flowers.

Educational Activities and Expansion

Fatoş Sarpkaya stated that she provides training to public education instructors across Turkey and continues her classes with traditional codes at the Çınar International Culture and Art Association in Istanbul.
