Historical mosques and castle reopened in Kahramanmaraş
Five historical mosques and the Kahramanmaraş Castle, which were damaged in the earthquakes, have reopened following comprehensive restoration efforts.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that five historical mosques whose restorations have been completed in Kahramanmaraş, affected by the February 6 earthquakes, have reopened for worship, and the castle has been opened to visitors.
Historical Mosques Reopen for Worship
With the participation of Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, historical buildings damaged in the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş have resumed service.
The restorations of Şekerli, Saraçhane, Acemli, Hacı Veli Bey, and Bektutiye mosques have been completed, and they have reopened for worship.
Kahramanmaraş Castle Opened to Visitors
Restoration, reinforcement, and landscaping works have been completed at Kahramanmaraş Castle, one of the city's iconic structures.
The collapses on the southwest walls were rebuilt in accordance with the original construction technique, while ground and foundation reinforcements were carried out on the northeast walls.
Other Visits in the City
Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy attended the provincial evaluation meeting held at the Governor's Office as part of his Kahramanmaraş program.
Ersoy also visited the Seven Beautiful Men Library and the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality to conduct inspections.
