IMM City Theatres Prepares for the 2026-2027 Theatre Season
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres announced its new term projects and the opening schedule of its renovated stages.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres announced that it is ready for the new 2026-2027 theatre season with a press conference. During the meeting, new plays were introduced, and the good news regarding the opening of stages whose restoration processes have been completed was shared.
New Season Meeting and Participants
The promotional meeting was attended by IMM City Theatres General Artistic Director Ayşegül İşsever, IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, Head of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs Department Tolga Volkan Aslan, City Theatres Manager Oytun Askeroğlu, and relevant institution officials.
Speaking at the meeting, General Artistic Director Ayşegül İşsever emphasized that they have achieved uninterrupted success for the past four seasons, thanked the working team, and stated that cooperation projects at national and international levels will continue.
New Projects as a Tribute
In the new season, IMM City Theatres will pay a special tribute to Ahmet Kutsi Tecer on the 60th anniversary of his passing with the play Köşebaşı and to the valuable puppeteer Tacettin Çınar with the play Hayali'nin Hayali.
Deputy General Artistic Director Emrah Özertem shared the details of the productions Hayali'nin Hayali, the children's play Ketçaplı Spagetti, and Köşebaşı, which will meet with the audience in the new term, with the members of the press.
Opening Schedule of Renovated Stages
IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat shared the restoration processes and opening schedules of the Muammer Karaca Theatre, Reşat Nuri Stage, and Haldun Taner Stage with the public during the meeting.
Among the productions to be presented to theatregoers in the new season are the plays Hayali'nin Hayali, Köşebaşı, and Ketçaplı Spagetti, prepared for child audiences.
