Islands Short Film Competition Awards Find Their Owners
Films ranking in the competition, meeting cinema enthusiasts for the eighth time, will be announced at a ceremony to be held at the Büyükada Anadolu Club.
The award-winning productions of the 8th Islands Short Film Competition, organized by the Islands Culture Association to support cinema and contribute to the cultural memory of the Islands, will be announced on Sunday, September 13.
Background of the Competition
The Islands Short Film Competition, brought to life by the Islands Culture Association to support the art of cinema, brought filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts together for the eighth time this year.
A total of thirty short films participated in the competition during the process that started on October 1, 2025, and ended on August 15, 2026.
Award Ceremony Details
The jury evaluation process of the competition was completed on Monday, September 7, and the names that ranked were finalized.
The winning films and their directors will be announced at the award ceremony to be held at the Büyükada Anadolu Club on Sunday, September 13, at 18:00.
Evaluation Jury
Ali Can Sekmeç, Annie Geelmuyden Pertan, Gülper Refiğ, Nil Gürpınar, and Özer Kangür sit on the jury seat of this year's organization.
The jury members meticulously examined the thirty participating productions based on various criteria such as cinematographic approach, originality, and narrative language.
Objective of the Competition
Aiming to encourage short film production, the event enables young and independent filmmakers to meet the Istanbul Islands.
The organization also makes a significant contribution to strengthening the bond established between the Islands and the world of cinema.
