Kahramanmaraş Culture Road Festival Begins at the Restored Castle
Events lasting for nine days have opened their doors in Kahramanmaraş, which was newly added to the festival route of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The Türkiye Culture Road Festival started with a ceremony held at the Historical Kahramanmaraş Castle in Kahramanmaraş, which was included in the festival route for the first time this year by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The Opening Venue of the Festival Was the Historical Castle
The festival excitement has begun in Kahramanmaraş, which was included in the festival route for the first time this year by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The opening of the events, to be held between September 12 and 20, took place at the Historical Kahramanmaraş Castle, which was damaged in the February 6 earthquakes and reopened its doors following restoration.
Held with Broad Protocol Participation
Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the 66th Government Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı, members of parliament, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fırat Görgel, provincial party chairs, protocol members, and numerous citizens attended the opening program at the historical castle.
Hundreds of Events for Nine Days
Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fırat Görgel drew attention to the importance of the festival being organized in the city for the first time. He stated that the city's natural, historical, and gastronomic riches will be promoted through many events such as concerts, exhibitions, workshops, talks, and theaters over the course of nine days.
Programs at Fourteen Different Points
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı noted that 208 events will be held at 14 different points during the nine days. He expressed that along with the Sacred Relics of the Ottoman Empire Exhibition and the Living Heritage Kahramanmaraş Exhibition, local flavors will also meet with visitors.
Will Provide a Great Contribution to Promotion
Former Minister Vahit Kirişci stated that the festival is being implemented in 26 provinces in 2026 and that this organization will make a great contribution to the promotion of Kahramanmaraş. Within the scope of the events lasting until Sunday, September 20, many famous artists will take the stage.
