Kaş Theatre Days Begins with the Theme of Lycian Cultural Heritage
Now in its fifth edition, the event brings together the history and mythology of the ancient geography with theatre, offering free performances to audiences.
Kaş Theatre Days is preparing to meet cinema and theatre enthusiasts for the fifth time between October 15-18, 2026, under the theme 'Lycian Cultural Heritage'. All events in the organization, implemented by the Kaş Environment and Culture Association, will be held free of charge.
Theme and Purpose of the Festival
Celebrating its fifth edition, Kaş Theatre Days focuses on the thousands of years of memory of the geography in which it is lived.
The history, mythology, and urban culture of Lycia, known as the Land of Light, are brought to the present day through the narrative power of theatre.
Historical Venues and Stage Distribution
While the Antiphellos Ancient Theatre in the center of Kaş serves as the main stage, the events spread across different locations.
This year, the program extends beyond Antiphellos to important points of the ancient geography such as Myra and Patara.
Archaeological Tours and Expert Guidance
In addition to the plays, ancient city tours organized provide participants with the opportunity to hear about the past from expert archaeologists.
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Çevik accompanies the tour of the Myra Ancient City and the Museum of Lycian Civilizations, while Dr. Şevket Aktaş accompanies the tour of the Patara Ancient City.
Free Events and Supporters
Organized by the Kaş Environment and Culture Association, the festival is brought to life through the contributions of Kaş tradesmen and volunteers.
All theatre plays, children's and youth performances within the scope meet the audience completely free of charge.
