Marimba and percussion artist Lerzan Tuncer and Symphoniker Hamburg solo timpanist Alexander Radziewski are preparing to share the same stage in Izmir as part of the Art and Music for Health Festival.
The Artists' Reunion Years Later
The paths of Lerzan Tuncer and Alexander Radziewski first crossed in 2010, and the two artists' long-standing desire to make music together is coming to life with this special concert in Izmir.
Alexander Radziewski joining the project by coming with his own means turns the concert into a strong solidarity among artists beyond a musical collaboration.
Alexander Radziewski's Musical Background
Coming from Germany's established orchestra tradition, Alexander Radziewski has successfully served as the solo timpanist of the Symphoniker Hamburg since 1987.
Having completed his education at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin, the artist performs in prestigious venues such as the Elbphilharmonie and conducts masterclasses in different countries.
Lerzan Tuncer's International Work
Lerzan Tuncer signs projects that attract attention in the international arena by treating the marimba as a solo instrument opening up to different cultures and contemporary music.
The artist increases the visibility of the marimba as a solo concert instrument in Turkey with concerts she gives in important centers such as the Zurich Festival and CSO Ada Ankara.
Concert Program and Rich Repertoire
In the concert program where the marimba and vibraphone are at the center, traditional works from Anatolia, Iran, and Brazil are included along with a contemporary repertoire.
In addition to works by Nebojša Jovan Živković and Emmanuel Séjourné, the piece titled Sabahın Seherinde, arranged by Onur Nurcan, will also be performed.
