New Generation Digital Transformation in 216 Museums from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
With the new project that will eliminate ticket lines in museums and archaeological sites, Turkish ID cards will function as MuseumCards, and all processes will be carried out with domestic infrastructure.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced the details of the comprehensive digital transformation project covering 216 museums and archaeological sites across Turkey. In this new era implemented in cooperation with Türk Telekom, citizens will be able to use their Turkish ID cards instead of MuseumCards.
Ministry and Türk Telekom Cooperation
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy hosted the Türk Telekom delegation at the Ministry within the scope of efforts to create a new generation visitor experience. During the meeting, the current status of the works carried out within the framework of the protocol signed between the institutions and the implementation schedule were discussed.
Covering 216 Museums and Archaeological Sites
With this major project covering a total of 216 museums and archaeological sites across Turkey, it is aimed to establish an integrated digital structure ranging from ticket office operations to visitor services, data security to museum shops. The system will be built entirely on a domestic and national infrastructure.
Smart Technologies and New Applications
Within the scope of the system to be implemented with domestic infrastructure, smart ticketing, multi-channel digital payment methods, and artificial intelligence-supported data analytics will be put into operation. In addition, digital visitor management, audio guides, archiving, augmented reality, and virtual reality applications will be offered to visitors.
ID Card Will Be Used as a MuseumCard
Instead of the MuseumCard application whose usage period has expired, Turkish ID cards will be valid. After paying the required MuseumCard fee via e-Government or the relevant mobile application, citizens will be able to enter directly by scanning their ID cards without having to wait in lines at the ticket offices.
Completion Schedule and Goals
This digital transformation and integration process, which is planned to provide great convenience and speed to visitors, is aimed to be fully completed by the end of 2026.
