New Steps in Cultural and Artistic Cooperation Taken Between Turkey and Uzbekistan

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy held official talks in Tashkent on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. Following the discussions, a memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation was signed between the General Directorate of Fine Arts and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Uzbekistan.

High-Level Contacts in Tashkent

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy visited Tashkent as part of the 35th-anniversary celebrations of Uzbekistan's independence. Within this framework, he met with Uzbekistan's Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov to discuss bilateral relations.

The two ministers visited the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan to conduct inspections and emphasized their determination to strengthen shared cultural ties.

Partnership in Cultural Heritage and Archaeology

Minister Ersoy stated that Turkey's experience in restoration and conservation could be shared with Uzbek experts to protect their common cultural heritage.

Furthermore, it was noted that the participation of Turkish archaeologists in excavations in Uzbekistan and Uzbek researchers in the Archaeology Summer School would enhance scientific cooperation.

Night Museum Operations and Performing Arts

During the talks, it was conveyed that experiences regarding the Night Museology model, which is successfully implemented and attracts great interest in Turkey, could be shared with Uzbekistan.

It is aimed to make folk dances a field of joint work and thereby introduce Turkish culture to wider audiences.

Co-productions in the Cinema Sector

The production process of the film "Heroes of Turkestan," which is among the audiovisual cooperation topics, was evaluated.

It was emphasized that the implementation of an Audiovisual Co-production Agreement between the two countries would place their cinema sectors on a permanent foundation.

Memorandum of Understanding and Gala Concert

Following the meetings, a Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation was signed between the General Directorate of Fine Arts and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Uzbekistan.

Continuing his program, Minister Ersoy attended the Independence Anniversary Gala Concert held at the International Forums Palace of Uzbekistan.
