Kurdish artist Serhat Kural is releasing his new three-song EP on September 3 on all digital music platforms for music lovers.

Details of the New Work

Featuring the tracks "Medrenge", "Zêrzewan", and "Bêdengî", the EP brings together themes of the oral memory of Kurdish music, traces of geography, personal memory, and silence.

Credits of the First Track Medrenge

The first track of Serhat Kural's new work, "Medrenge", consists of a contemporary arrangement and reinterpretation of a traditional melody belonging to the Serhed region.

In the piece compiled by Kural, Nurcan Değirmenci, Meral Tekçi, Hivda Gökel, and Zelal Gökçe take part with their vocals, while the arrangement and mix/mastering works were carried out by Doğan Saldanlı.

Themes of the Song Zêrzewan

The second song on the EP, "Zêrzewan", features lyrics and music by Xalit Tari and is performed by Serhat Kural.

The piece explores themes such as destruction, longing, guilt, and inner vulnerability through the imagery of Zêrzewan; the saz arrangement belongs to Serhat Ertuna, and the mix/mastering work belongs to Orhan Kara.

Closing Track Bêdengî

The third track of the work, "Bêdengî", features lyrics and music by Serhat Ertuna and creates an introspective atmosphere with its sound design.

Built on themes of silence, the passage of time, memories, and the state of being and non-being, the vocals in the piece are also undertaken by Serhat Ertuna.

While the photographs of the EP were taken by Damla Kopuz, this three-song work will meet listeners on September 3 across all digital music platforms.
