Six Earthquake-Damaged Historical Mosques Reopen for Worship
Six historical mosques in Diyarbakır and Bingöl, whose restoration works have been completed, are reuniting with their congregation for Friday prayers.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that 6 mosques in Diyarbakır and Bingöl, whose restorations were completed following the February 6 earthquakes, will reopen for worship.
Works Whose Restoration Process Has Been Completed
As a result of comprehensive works carried out by the General Directorate of Foundations, historical places of worship in the earthquake zone have been restored. A total of six mosques located in the provinces of Diyarbakır and Bingöl have been made ready for worship.
Mosques to Open for Worship
The Ali Paşa, Melik Ahmet Paşa, Parlı Safa, Cafer-i Tayyar, and Hanbaşı mosques in Diyarbakır, along with the Balaban Bey Mosque in Bingöl, are reopening their doors following meticulous work.
Group Opening Program
The group opening program for the historical artifacts took place at the historical Ali Paşa Mosque located in the Sur district of Diyarbakır, and the places of worship reunited with their congregation with Friday prayers.
