The Fisherman of Halicarnassus and Archipelago Exhibition Opens in Izmir
Prepared by the Pervin Özdemir Ceramic Studio, this special exhibition meets art lovers in memory of Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı.
Prepared in memory of Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, one of the master writers of Turkish literature, The Fisherman of Halicarnassus and Archipelago exhibition will open its doors at the Izmir Culture and Art Factory on September 22, 2026.
Purpose and Scope of the Exhibition
Prepared by the Pervin Özdemir Ceramic Studio, the exhibition themed around The Fisherman of Halicarnassus and Archipelago reinterprets the author's life and thoughts on Aegean and Mediterranean civilizations through ceramic art.
Through ceramic sculptures, busts, masks, panels, and various objects produced during the workshop process, the author's deep devotion to the sea, nature, history, and Anatolian civilizations is conveyed to the audience.
Opening Program and Talk
Opening with a speech by Ceramic Artist Pervin Özdemir at 3:00 PM on September 22 at the Izmir Culture and Art Factory, the exhibition can be visited until October 2.
On the opening day at 3:30 PM, a talk will also be held with Metin Erdoğan and Servet Şahin Şentürk as speakers, moderated by Tuba Kabaağaçlı.
Archipelago and Blue Anatolianism
The concept of Archipelago in the exhibition's title makes a direct reference to the Blue Anatolianism thought, which holds an important place in the works of The Fisherman of Halicarnassus.
Within the scope of the workshop conducted with the participation of approximately 40 artists, nearly a hundred works consisting of ceramic pieces finished with blue and green glazes are presented to the appreciation of art lovers.
