Reflecting the deep-rooted heritage of marbling art passed down from generation to generation through the master-apprentice relationship and the traditional meşk method, the 'Road Written on Water Following the Permission' diploma exhibition has opened its doors in Üsküdar.
Opening Point and Scope of the Exhibition
The diploma exhibition titled 'Road Written on Water Following the Permission', which reflects the deep-rooted heritage of marbling art, was presented to art enthusiasts at the Bağlarbaşı Congress and Culture Center in Üsküdar.
Artwork Owners and Diploma Works
In addition to the diploma works of seven apprentices trained under the guidance of Ayten Hızır, the exhibition also features works by Fuat Başar and Ayten Hızır, who are among the master figures of marbling art.
The Significance of the Meşk Tradition
In traditional arts, meşk means not only the transfer of technical knowledge, but also the transmission of patience, attention, manners, affection, and the attitude towards art from generation to generation.
Visitor Information
While Ayten Hızır's transfer of the knowledge and artistic understanding she inherited from her teacher Fuat Başar to her apprentices is seen as a trust, the exhibition can be visited until September 20.
