Traveling Cinema Project for Children Reaches All 81 Provinces of Turkey

Launched in 2018 to bring children without access to movie theaters together with the big screen, the Traveling Cinema for Children project has reached all 81 provinces of Turkey. Visiting villages and districts with specially equipped vehicles, the project has offered millions of children the opportunity to watch films for free.

The Beginning and Purpose of the Project

Launched in 2018 by the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Traveling Cinema for Children project aims to introduce children who lack access to the big screen to cinema.

Record Figures Reached in 8 Years

Traveling from city to city and district to district, events have been organized in 681 different districts so far within the scope of the project, and more than 1.5 million children have experienced the excitement of cinema for the first time.

Strong Interinstitutional Cooperation

Thanks to the efforts carried out in partnership with the Art for Art's Sake Culture and Art Association and Türk Telekom, the impact area of the project reaches broader audiences with each passing day.

Increased Capacity and Number of Trucks

As a result of the intense interest shown in the project, the access capacity of the Traveling Cinema was increased in 2025, and with the support of Türk Telekom, the number of cinema trucks was doubled, expanding the calendar.

Open-Air Enjoyment in Village Squares

Alongside daytime screenings aimed at children, the project brings together film enthusiasts of all ages during the summer months through open-air screenings held in district and village squares.

Screenings in Social Service Institutions

Special film screenings are also held in correctional institutions, hospitals, and various social service organizations serving the elderly, bringing artists and audiences together.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced this significant milestone reached by the project, emphasizing that they have enabled children to watch a film on the big screen, sometimes for the very first time.
