Troy exhibition at Rome's Colosseum visited by over 2 million people

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that the Troy exhibition held at the Colosseum in Italy's capital, Rome, was visited by more than 2 million art enthusiasts.
Visitor Record of the Exhibition
Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy shared the figures reached by the exhibition, which met with visitors at the Colosseum in Rome, through a post on his social media account.
According to the official statement, the special exhibition titled "Troy and Rome: Myths, Legends and Stories of the Ancient Mediterranean" was visited by a total of 2,066,178 people.
Cultural Cooperation and Opening
Prepared within the framework of strong cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Italian Ministry of Culture, the official opening of this important exhibition took place on June 11.
Immediately following the opening ceremony, the exhibition opened its doors to visitors as of June 12, presenting it to the appreciation of international art lovers.
Exhibited Works and Collection
Prepared in partnership with the Colosseum Archaeological Park and the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, the organization features numerous pieces brought from museums in Turkey.
Along with 221 artifacts procured from museums affiliated with the Ministry, together with precious pieces brought from Italian and Vatican museums, the total number of works in the exhibition exceeds 300.
Myths and Historical Connections
The exhibition, which has attracted intense interest from visitors, elaborately addresses the Trojan War and the myths in Homer's Iliad.
Additionally, Aeneas's legendary journey from Troy to Italy and the Anatolian connections regarding the founding of Rome are among the main topics covered in the exhibition.
Future Dates and Closing
In the statement made by Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, it was reported that this cultural event, which has garnered great interest, will continue to host visitors until October 18, 2026.
Through this comprehensive exhibition, it is aimed to further strengthen the deep-rooted cultural ties between Turkey and Italy.
