Turkish ID Cards Will Be Usable as Museum Passes

Within the scope of the digital transformation project launched in 216 museums and archaeological sites across Turkey in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Türk Telekom, Turkish ID cards can be used as Museum Passes in place of expired ones.

Cooperation Between the Ministry and Türk Telekom

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy received the Türk Telekom delegation at the Ministry to create a next-generation visitor experience in museums and archaeological sites.

During the meeting, the current status of the work within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Türk Telekom and the implementation schedule were discussed.

Comprehensive Digital Infrastructure in 216 Museums and Archaeological Sites

With the project covering 216 museums and archaeological sites across Turkey, an integrated digital infrastructure is being established, ranging from ticket office operations to visitor services.

In the system to be implemented with a domestic and national infrastructure, applications such as smart ticketing, digital payments, artificial intelligence analytics, and augmented reality are being put into service.

Visitor Services and Stores Being Renewed

The digital transformation process is not limited only to entry and ticketing systems, but also covers museum shops, cafeterias, and sales areas.

Special products reflecting the country's cultural values, such as traditional Turkish handicrafts, Turkish coffee, Turkish delight, and carpet weaving, will be featured in the museum shops.

Turkish ID Cards Will Function as Museum Passes

No changes will be made to Museum Passes whose current validity period continues, and Turkish ID cards will be activated for cards whose validity has expired.

Citizens will be able to make payments via e-Government or the mobile application and enter by scanning their ID cards at the ticket counter without waiting in line.
