World Peace Day to Be Celebrated with Events in Izmir
The 5th Izmir Poetry Lines event, hosted by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, will bring together poetry and various art disciplines.
The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is preparing to celebrate September 1, World Peace Day, with the fifth edition of the Izmir Poetry Lines event.
Details and Coordination of the Event
Hosted by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and coordinated by Namık Kuyumcu, Representative of the Izmir Writers and Artists Platform, the program will bring art lovers together.
Poets and the Theme of Peace
As part of the event, twelve poets will recite their poems themed around peace and freedom at 19.30 in front of Bostanlı Yasemin Café. The poets will also share their thoughts on the devastating effects of war, violence, and injustice on humanity.
Meeting of Art Disciplines
In addition to poetry, tango, salsa, mime, fire dance, and music performances will take place in the program. While dancers will perform choreographies themed around peace and freedom, mime and fire dance shows will be blended with poetry.
Music and Final Show
Musicians will accompany the audience with the unifying power of universal music and perform joint songs. In the finale of the program, the Copullo Dance Group will present a tango show, followed by a joint tango gathering with the participation of the audience.
