10 Billion TL Resource for Circular Economy and Green Transformation
VakıfBank and the Zero Waste Foundation have prepared a 10 billion lira financing package for green transformation investments, aiming to strengthen SMEs' access during this process.
Within the framework of the strategic cooperation signed between VakıfBank and the Zero Waste Foundation, it is aimed to create a financing volume of 10 billion TL for circular economy and green transformation investments.
Details of the Financing Package
The cooperation, signed by VakıfBank General Manager Osman Arslan and Zero Waste Foundation President Samed Ağırbaş, covers a wide area such as resource efficiency, recycling, and the transformation of production processes. In the first phase, it is planned to reach over 500 institutions and projects.
Loan and Surety Opportunities
Maturity options of up to 50 million TL with maturities of up to 60 months for investment loans, and up to 120 months for large-scale projects are offered. Additionally, support of up to 10 million TL is provided for working capital, while 3 billion TL of KGF surety support facilitates SMEs' access to finance.
Sustainable Banking Approach
VakıfBank General Manager Osman Arslan stated that they view development as a long-term process that protects resources. Arslan expressed that new solutions to be developed in the field of circular economy start with this package and that international resources will be utilized for the transformation.
Global Zero Waste Vision
Zero Waste Foundation President Samed Ağırbaş emphasized that the movement initiated in 2017 under the auspices of Emine Erdoğan has transformed into a global vision. Ağırbaş stated that the underlying concept is to prevent waste at its source rather than managing it.
Carried to the COP31 Agenda
Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Head of Climate Change Prof. Dr. Halil Hasar announced that the zero waste approach will be carried to the COP agenda for the first time with the 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
