15,000 Rental Social Housing Project by TOKİ Begins in Istanbul
Within the scope of the new model prepared to increase access to housing for low-income citizens, the process has gained momentum for 15,000 rental housing units to be implemented in Istanbul.
Within the framework of the Medium-Term Program, 15,000 rental social houses will be built in Istanbul by TOKİ to facilitate access to housing for low-income citizens, individuals with disabilities, and newlyweds, and the project will later be expanded nationwide.
Medium-Term Program and Housing Targets
Within the framework of the Medium-Term Program covering the new period, it was decided to increase social housing investments by 150 percent in order to facilitate access to housing for low- and middle-income citizens.
Start Date of Applications in Istanbul
It was announced that applications for the 15,000 rental social housing project to be implemented by TOKİ in Istanbul will begin to be accepted on September 14, and the first draws are planned to be held in October.
Deliveries and Nationwide Expansion
While it was stated that a portion of the rental houses have been completed, it was reported that the first deliveries will take place in September, and this model, starting from Istanbul, will spread to all 81 provinces across Turkey over time.
