Iceland summoned the US ambassador to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs following a social media post by US President Donald Trump depicting the country and several other regions covered by the American flag.

US President Donald Trump shared a map on the social media platform Truth Social showing the US, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean covered in stars and stripes. The entire landmass was labeled as the "United States of America," and the post contained no accompanying text description.
Iceland's Diplomatic Response
Icelandic Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir described the post in question as completely inappropriate. Following this development, US Ambassador to the country Billy Long was summoned to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs for an official meeting, and the host country's displeasure was conveyed.
