Agriculture and Food Cooperation Move Between Turkey and Germany
A declaration of intent signed with the participation of the two countries' agriculture ministers aims to strengthen commercial relations and implement joint projects.
A Joint Declaration of Intent was signed at the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works to deepen bilateral cooperation in the agriculture and food sectors between Turkey and Germany.
Signing Ceremony and Participants
The declaration of intent was signed with the participation of Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı and German Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food and Homeland Alois Rainer.
Strategic relations between the two countries were discussed at the signing ceremony held at the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works.
Trade Volume and Targets
Minister İbrahim Yumaklı announced that agricultural product exports to Germany amounted to approximately $2.2 billion in 2025, while imports stood at approximately $753 million.
The agricultural trade volume between the two countries is targeted to be increased to the $5 billion level in the near future.
Areas of Cooperation and New Era
The signed declaration of intent aims to carry the existing Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Agriculture to a more advanced stage.
There is significant potential in the fields of agricultural technologies, food industry, digitalization, sustainable production, and agricultural R&D.
Contacts of the German Minister
German Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food and Homeland Alois Rainer stated that they want to further deepen bilateral relations in the agriculture and food fields.
It was stated that Rainer will meet with business world representatives at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and visit industry companies.
