Small Modular Reactor Cooperation Between Thailand and the US

Scope and Objectives of the Study

This comprehensive study, to be funded by the US agency, will help determine potential locations and costs.

Through the project, the regulatory steps for small modular reactor technologies with a capacity to generate approximately 600 megawatts of electricity will be evaluated.

Evaluated Reactor Designs

Within the scope of the vendor-neutral study to be prepared, the reactor designs of many leading US-based companies will be carefully examined.

Technologies from firms such as GE-Hitachi, Holtec, Kairos Power, NuScale, TerraPower, Westinghouse, and X-Energy will be analyzed.

Future-Oriented Energy Vision

The Thai government views the potential deployment of small modular reactors as part of the country's long-term energy development strategy.
