First-stage applications for the rental social housing project prepared to facilitate access to housing at affordable prices for low-income citizens in Istanbul begin tomorrow, and no application fee will be charged.

Project Application Details

Applications for the rental social housing project implemented to facilitate access to housing at affordable prices for low-income citizens in Istanbul will start tomorrow. Within the scope of the Century's Housing Project carried out by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, 15,000 social houses in Istanbul will be rented out with a system to be applied for the first time in Turkey.

Applications will be made between September 14-25 via the Housing and Workplace Application service of the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) on e-Government, and no application fee will be charged. In the first phase, 1,071 residences will be allocated for a period of 3 years to citizens who meet the conditions, and rental prices will start from 10,000 liras per month.

Districts Where the Residences Are Located

The residences to be rented out in the first phase are located in 4 main regions in Istanbul, namely Başakşehir, Gaziosmanpaşa, Beyoğlu, Güngören, Maltepe, Tuzla, Kartal, Ataşehir, Sancaktepe, Ümraniye, Üsküdar, and Arnavutköy. Those living within the borders of Istanbul province will be able to apply for any district they want, independently of the district where they reside.

What Are the Application Requirements

To apply for the project, it is required to be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, to be over 18 years old and married, and to have resided uninterruptedly in Istanbul for at least one year. In addition, the condition of not having a registered residence in the title deed and having a monthly net household income not exceeding 100,000 liras is required.

Rent and Allocation Conditions

The rental price of the residences will not be increased for 12 months from the delivery date, and an increase at the rate of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) will be made in the first January. The allocation period will be limited to 3 years, and beneficiaries who purchase a residence during this period will vacate the rental social housing.
