Arrest Decisions in Exorbitant Pricing Investigation in Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Market
Forty distributor company executives detained in the Istanbul-centered investigation into exorbitant pricing in the fresh vegetable and fruit market were arrested by the court.
Forty distributor company executives, who were detained within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into exorbitant pricing practices in the fresh vegetable and fruit market, were arrested after being referred to the courthouse.
Initiation of the Investigation
A comprehensive investigation process was initiated under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding exorbitant pricing practices in the fresh vegetable and fruit market.
Inter-Institutional Coordination
Writings were sent to the Competition Board, the Ministry of Trade, and the wholesale market directorates of relevant metropolitan municipalities, and transaction volume reports were added to the file.
Inspections and Examinations
Within the framework of the work carried out by the Tax Inspection Board, the information and statements of 1,029 farmers were consulted.
Details of the Operation
In line with the detention decisions issued for 41 suspects acting as suppliers, search and seizure operations were carried out at 109 determined addresses in 22 provinces.
Detention and Judicial Process
In the operation by the teams of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Security's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch, 40 distributor company executives were detained and taken to the security directorate.
Arrest Decisions
The 40 suspects, whose procedures at the security directorate were completed and who were referred to the Istanbul Palace of Justice, were arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace to which they were brought and sent to prison.
