The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency has introduced various exemptions in capital and risk calculations for banks that will buy back their shares traded on Borsa Istanbul.

The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency has taken a new flexibility decision regarding capital and risk calculations for share buybacks to be carried out by banks on Borsa Istanbul.

New Decision Regarding Repurchased Shares

According to the announcement made by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the regulation regarding the own shares repurchased by banks after September 16 has been put into effect.

Exemption in Capital and Risk Calculations

In line with the board's decision, it was decided that the shares in question will not be evaluated as a deduction item from core capital until December 31.

In addition, steps were taken to exclude these shares from the calculations of the amount subject to credit risk and the amount subject to market risk.
