The BIST 100 index on Borsa İstanbul started the first trading day of the week with a 1.62 percent decrease at 12,689.87 points. The markets are following global developments and fund regulations.

Opening Data of Borsa İstanbul

Borsa İstanbul, which completed Friday with a buying-weighted course gaining 0.09 percent to 12,899.35 points, experienced a decline on the first day of the week. At the opening, the BIST 100 index retreated by 209.47 points and 1.62 percent compared to the previous close, falling to 12,689.87 points.

Sectoral Performance Distribution

During the opening session, the banking index lost 1.59 percent and the holding index lost 2.24 percent. Among sector indices, the only gainer was sports with 0.36 percent, while the sector that declined the most was financial leasing and factoring with 8.41 percent.

Global Geopolitical Developments

Global markets started the week under selling pressure due to escalating geopolitical tensions after US President Donald Trump rejected Iran's 7-day ceasefire proposal to open the Strait of Hormuz to traffic.

Domestic Fund Investigations

Domestically, developments within the scope of ongoing fund investigations are being closely monitored. The Capital Markets Board shared its decisions regarding funds subject to liquidation and the status of orders transmitted via TEFAS.

Technical Levels and Agenda

Analysts stated that the domestic data agenda is calm, while abroad, the US September Dallas Fed manufacturing index will be monitored. From a technical perspective, 12,500 and 12,400 points are support levels, while 12,800 and 12,900 points act as resistance levels for the BIST 100 index.
